The Y offers free courses for 16 – 24 year olds to help them access apprenticeships, employment, training or college. The courses are open to residents of The Y as well as other young people.
Clubs and Classes
Home to martial arts clubs, dance classes, fitness work-outs and drama, we offer lots of opportunities to get fit and learn something new, right in the city centre. See Clubs & Classes
Stuff for kids is included in the theatre and classes pages, but we've also got a page showing what's on for children
Schools & Colleges
The Y has worked in a number of schools through the Creative Partnerships programme, designed to develop creativity in schools. The theatre can also provide high quality performances and workshops for schools, colleges and excluded young people in Leicester. See Working with Schools for examples of commissioned projects or What's On for the upcoming programme of events.
As part of the citywide No Second Night Out partnership, homeless adults seeking employment can access workshops at The Y Support Project within the Dawn Centre. This includes understanding the job market, writing CVs, improving reading and writing skills, interview preparation and work experience. See Homeless Support for more information
